The Chiefs fall again, this time on Sunday Night Football. Jenny, Conor and Gary discuss how KC fares, from the disappearing stars on defense to the lack of patience on offense. But also, a look at how the Bills finally got their white whale, clinching a convincing road victory in the elements.
Then a discussion of the undeniably beautiful game between the Chargers and the Browns, in which Justin Herbert continued to establish himself as an MVP favorite, and the undeniably not-so-beautiful game between the Cardinals and the 49ers, in which you start to wonder. how much longer can Kyler Murray be a superhero and exactly what we should have expected from Trey Lance in his first career start.
Giants limping to Dallas and … well, limping out of Dallas, Bears win ugly in Las Vegas, another for Urban Meyer’s low-light reel with the weirdest challenge in recent memory, if the Steelers can repeat. Sunday’s impressive offensive performance, the Patriots and Texans get weird, Matt LaFleur makes things interesting by stealing the ball from Aaron Rodgers, and so much more!

Gay gramling: We have a lot to go on in this show. We have the beauty of that Chargers-Browns game, the not-so-beautiful Cardinals-49ers game. We have Urban Meyer and his super weird challenge, the weird Texans special teams. A lot of fun things are coming, but we kicked it off with the Sunday night game where some of you may have fallen asleep, went to bed early, missed the finale … as we wish we did. But the first thing we have to do is: we have a new addition to the program. What do you want to call it? It’s a robot … You know, like the robot Fox? And I don’t know if the robot Fox has ever said a word. But maybe this is like, the projection of the Fox robot and what his voice would sound like if he was helping out on our podcast,
Jenny Vrentas: Great idea.
Gay gramling: But this entity, whatever it is, is going to present the games from now on as we see them on Monday’s show. So with that unforgettable introduction, let’s get it going.
ROBOT VOICE: BILLS, BOSS!
Conor Orr: I’m not 100 percent prepared to say that’s a he or she, but either way, our new robot may just be a wonderful genderless entity that carries us through.
Gay gramling: We will need a name in some way, shape or form. So if you want to submit a name, you can submit it. I’m going to nominate Ira, but we can go from there. But yeah, we started with the Bills’ decisive win over the Chiefs. A bit like some kind of white whale win here. Buffalo finally does it against Kansas City and in a pretty convincing way. They had a very good defensive performance. Also, just one really sloppy game from the Chiefs, which we’ve said a couple of times this year.
Jenny Vrentas: Yes, Patrick Mahomes looked a bit out of place, also the rest of his offense looked a bit out of place. So nothing was in sync. Nothing seemed easy tonight, and at times it seemed like Mahomes was trying to force him a bit, and I think he probably knew he had to, because the defense has really been playing poorly this season, and that’s still a story that because of that the defense is struggling, there’s a lot of pressure on Mahomes to score points like last week, even against the Eagles, right? He had to keep scoring points well into the fourth quarter and this week against a much better opponent, the game just got out of hand.
