Liverpool vs. Wolves and Man City vs. Aston Villa live updates, highlights from Premier League final day title race

Manchester City (1st, 90 pts) and Liverpool (2nd, 89 pts) will go head-to-head for the Premier League title today, with the Citizens playing host to Aston Villa at the Etihad Stadium and Jurgen Klopp’s men facing Wolves at Anfield.

Both sides will be desperate to claim all three points as the title race goes down to the wire. City holds the edge, knowing that a victory against Steven Gerrard’s Villa will guarantee them a fourth championship in six seasons under Pep Guardiola.

On the other hand, Liverpool is looking to do everything in its power to stop this potential outcome. Scoring early against Wolves will be key for the Reds, as they aim to put pressure on the reigning champions and record what would be an incredible title victory after a fantastic campaign.

Nevertheless, both City and Liverpool come into these crunch ties against agile opposition with plenty to prove. Wolves have already confirmed a top-half finish, whilst Steven Gerrard will want to prove that his Aston Villa are an up-and-coming side despite an underwhelming season.

The West Midlands-based pair could have the deciding say in the Premier League title race. The Sporting News will be here to provide all the action in what is set to be a day of high drama across the country.
