María Gámez: “The Civil Guard is oblivious to political debates, it is neutral”

The Alicante Forum, organized by the newspaper INFORMACIÓN with the support of the University of Alicante, Bankia and the Business Confederation of the Valencian Community (CEV), met yesterday to listen to the general director of the Civil Guard, María Gámez, representatives of different institutions, entities and State Security Forces and Corps.

The general director of the Armed Institute answered all the questions asked by the attendees both in person and through the internet, including a question about the possible discomfort that could exist within the Benemérita due to Bildu’s support for the Government to approve the General State Budgets for the year 2021. In this regard, to answer this question, he assured that he has not noticed displeasure and pointed out that “the Civil Guard is oblivious to political debates; it is neutral and whether it is agreed in the Government or not, which in this case may be a support to the budgets, it is not up to the Civil Guard. Gámez added that the Civil Guard “is dedicated to order and law.”
