While the coaching staff carefully prepares the semifinals for the promotion this Saturday in Alcoy, the sports management began to configure the squad for the coming course some time ago. Headed and led by the owner Mark Heffernan and supported by the field work of David Rocha and Luismi Patiño, the planning for next season is more than on track, waiting to find out if the team will be in First or Second Federation to finish finalize it

The first signing of the 22/23 season is the right winger from Villanovense Francisco Javier Viñuela Campos (Villafranca de los Barros, 1998), who has signed for the next two seasons. He will land at Romano, already with a senior record, after completing one of his most complete and regular seasons: he has played 32 games (28 of them as a starter) and has scored five goals. The main characteristics of him are the explosive start, the speed and the arrival in the area.

He exploded four seasons ago at the Príncipe Felipe at the hands of Scatoralo and Ximo Más, being the undisputed starter at that Cacereño and scoring seven goals. He signed the following year for the Extremadura subsidiary, whose first team had just been promoted to Segunda A that summer. And from 2019 until now he has defended the Villanovense jersey, with which he has achieved promotion and debuted in Second B.

However, Fran Viñuela is not the only player that Mérida has closed for next season. He also has tied two more players who will participate in the next few weeks in the promotion playoff of Alicante. And he has in mind, depending on the category in which he is finally, the name of other players with whom he has already had conversations. More Bonaque, renewed until 2024, and several other members of the current squad with whom renewal negotiations have already begun.

200 entries instead of 1,000

After the meeting with the Spanish Federation, Mérida backed down in the number of tickets requested for the match against Cristo Atlético. As each club has to take charge of the tickets it does not sell, the Mérida entity has decided to ask for only 200, instead of the initial 1,000. As of late Wednesday afternoon, these tickets had not yet been sent, so Mérida hopes to have them throughout Thursday to start selling them to fans traveling in private cars. This Wednesday the first free bus was completed and there is little confidence that the second will leave. Meanwhile, the entity continues to work on being able to offer the game on giant screens to those from Merida who do not travel, but they are studying the correct way to do it and that they are protected by legality.
