MINIMUM VITAL INCOME | Everything you need to know about the aid for a dependent child that will arrive in 2022


Starting next year, families with low incomes will receive a new aid related to raising their children. It is a aid for dependent child for people who charge the minimum living income (IMV), with which they will receive up to 100 euros per retail and which is collected in the State’s general budgets by 2022. This aid, previously received by workers with children up to 3 years old, is now extended to the unemployed people.

How to request the aid of 100 euros per child?

In addition to those beneficiaries of the minimum living income with dependent children, the Government has agreed that families made up of two parents and one child and earning less than € 27,000 and those made up of two parents and two children or more earning less than € 32,100 per year receive this aid . In the case of a single-parent family with a dependent child, the limit is € 25,700 and if there are two descendants, the income must be below € 30,800.

In order to request the aid of 100 euros per dependent child, must be done through the Tax Agency and present the model 140, both online and in person.

The amount to be charged for child support will depend on the age of the sons and daughters: € 100 per month for each child between 0 and 3 years old; € 70 between 3 and 6 years old; and € 40 between 6 and 18 years old. In this way, those who receive the IMV, they will be added up to one hundred euros more for each child they have.

What are the requirements to apply for the minimum vital income?

These are the requirements that you must meet to collect the IMV:

  • Be at least 23 years old, O 18 years if you have dependents, and not receive the contributory pension for retirement or permanent disability, nor the non-contributory pension for disability or retirement.
  • News legally resided for at least one year in Spain.

  • Have independent for at least 1 year in the case of families and 3 years in the case of single people.

  • In the case of coexistence units, have been trained at least 1 year before the application.

  • Have previously requested other benefits to which you may be entitled.

  • Be registered as job seeker.

How to apply for help for a child with a disability?

Those family units that are in charge of a minor child with a disability of less than 33% can request the Minimum Living Income as help. Previously, these families received the Dependent Child Assistance. Families with a minor child with 33% disability received 1000 euros per year; Those with an adult child with a 65% disability received € 4,747.20 and with a disability greater than 75% € 7,120.80. From June 1, 2020, all people who want to apply for this help must request the IMV.

On the other hand, families who are in charge of a minor child with a disability equal to or greater than 33% or an adult child with a disability greater than 65% may receive other help other than the IMV. The amount received depends on both age and degree of disability:

  • If you have a degree of disability equal to or greater than 33% and you are under 18 years of age, you receive € 1000 per year.

  • If you have a degree of disability equal to or greater than 65% and you are over 18 years of age, you will receive 4,747.20 euros per year.

  • If you have a degree of disability equal to or greater than 75% and are over 18 years of age, you receive 7,120.80 euros per year
