The end of week 3 on Monday Night Football is a classic clash between enemies from the NFC East. Both the Cowboys and Eagles are 1-1 and have a chance to take command of the division early. When making NFL DFS lineups, it is generally helpful to look at where the Las Vegas sportsbooks opened the line. With the Cowboys opening as favorites by four points in a 51.5-point matchup, bettors are painting the picture of a high-scoring Cowboys win, which obviously influenced our DraftKings Showdown lineup picks.
A quick summary of the scoring settings for DraftKings Showdown contests: they are Full point PPR, and here they are 3-point bonuses for 300 passing yards, 100 rushing yards, and 100 receiving yards. The Captain’s pick costs 1.5 times the player’s original price, but also gets his total points multiplied by 1.5.

DraftKings Showdown Picks: Eagles vs Cowboys
$ 50,000 budget, at least one player from each team is needed.
Captain (1.5x value, 1.5x points): RB Ezekiel Elliott, Cowboys ($ 12,600)
This won’t feel good to many people, but there is a method to insanity. The excitement is building for Tony Pollard, and deservedly so, but Father Time has yet to come for Elliott. He averaged 22.7 DK points in five games with Dak Prescott last season and is coming off a solid showing. Not only is Elliott more than capable of delivering a great score, but it also gives us a little financial respite compared to shooting with Dak Prescott in this first place.
FLEX: QB Jalen Hurts, Eagles ($ 11,000)
Hurts has already flirted with 30 DraftKings points this season. He has 17 quick attempts in two games, so he is using his legs as we expected. It is partly due to his prospective work in the field that we are running an “iso” with Hurts. We’re also not interested in trying to identify which Eagles pass receiver has his night this week, not before we get a better idea of the volume distribution on Nick Sirianni’s offense.
MORE MNF DFS: FanDuel Single Game Lineup
FLEX: WR CeeDee Lamb, jeans ($ 9,800)
Lamb is setting the pace for the Cowboys on targets (24) and yards (185). The sophomore catcher is on track for a sophomore breakup. If we’re going to leave Prescott out of our lineup, we’ll make sure his main goals are included.
FLEX: WR Amari Cooper, Cowboys ($ 9,000)
Cooper leads the Cowboys in receptions and touchdowns. Cooper and Lamb have combined for 54.8 and 54.4 percent of the Cowboys’ goals and yards, respectively. Between the two of them (and Elliott) we are hitching our wagon to the three most important players in this offense who are not named Prescott.
FLEX: K Greg Zuerlein, Cowboys ($ 4,000)
The Cowboys are averaging 3.5 field goal attempts per game over two modest weeks. We’re not going to break our necks with a sample of two games, but Zuerlein has also shown to have a great leg. If this game scores as high as anticipated, it won’t take long for Zuerlein to rack up a decent point total.
FLEX: Cowboys D / ST ($ 3,400)
It’s more about the savings, but the Cowboys certainly have the talent to make some big plays Monday night. While punt return touchdowns are rare, should the Cowboys recover one, it will be Lamb who will do the feat.
