The Seahawks and Saints have had some fun matchups and iconic moments over the years. It will be up to Geno Smith and Jameis Winston to add another chapter to the Monday Night Football story. As usual, we’re taking an all-or-nothing DFS approach with our Week 7 FanDuel individual games lineup, which is aptly named “Hail Mary.”
Here’s a reminder of the FanDuel scoring system for single-game contests: Total points for “MVP” are multiplied by 1.5, but it doesn’t cost additional money like “Captain” in DraftKings Showdown contests. The default FanDuel score is Semi point PPR and Four-point pass TD, and here they are no bonuses for 300 yard / 100 yard games like in DraftKings.

FanDuel Single Game DFS Picks: Saints vs. Seahawks
$ 60,000 budget, needs at least one player from each team
MVP (1.5x points): QB Alvin Kamara, Saints ($ 16,000)
Kamara’s 109 touches account for 47.6 percent of the Saints’ offensive volume. The next busiest Saint is backup running back Tony Jones Jr., who has handled the stone 23 times. Kamara also leads the team with four touchdowns, but it’s reasonable to expect him to be particularly busy in that department this week with quarterback Taysom Hill (four rushing TDs) ruled out with a concussion and Jones Jr. (ankle) on IR.
FLEX: WR DK Metcalf, Seahawks ($ 13,500)
We’re going to fade quarterbacks in favor of their playmakers. The odds of Geno Smith or Jameis Winston erupting aren’t particularly favorable, but each could play well enough to carry a receiver or two. Metcalf is one of those receivers despite his modest 6-58 line in Smith’s first start. The two will presumably have a higher level of comfort with each other, which could allow for a better connection.

FLEX: WR Tyler Lockett, Seahawks ($ 11,500)
It’s been a tough sled for Lockett after a stellar start. After scoring 24.0 and 27.8 FanDuel points in weeks 1-2, respectively, he has scored a total of 22.2 FD points in the last four games. Let your season-long investors worry. Based on a game, Lockett is an attractive inclusion at a modest price. The market is justifiably below the volatile wide receiver, but that’s an opportunity to take advantage of the low property across the board.
FLEX: WR Marquez Callaway, Saints ($ 10,500)
Callaway has served as the main receiver in place of Michael Thomas. He has only 21 goals, but that’s second on the team behind Kamara. Playing Callaway here is a bet on efficiency. He averages 10.6 yards per goal with a 61.9 percent catch rate. He’s not going to get many chances Monday night, but the ones he does get will come with great scoring potential. We are fighting for the fences in these contests, so take advantage of the risk-reward profile here.
FLEX: WR Tre’Quan Smith, Saints ($ 8,500)
Smith has been out all season with a hamstring injury, but he returned to practice this week and has a chance to debut. His catching partner Deonte Harris landed on IR with a hamstring injury and vacated 16 goals at 14.8 yards per look in the process. Those are opportunities that could be fined for Smith, who caught 34 passes on 50 goals for 13.2 yards per reception and a catch rate of 68 percent in 2020. There are advantages here for Smith if he’s on. Be sure to check their status before making your final lineup presentation. If Smith doesn’t play, he can pivot kicker Jason Meyers, who should have some field goal opportunities if the weather isn’t too bad. Worse cause, I could go for the TD-or-bust TE Gerald Everett option.
