NASCAR at Kansas live racing updates, results, Hollywood Casino 400 highlights

With just one race remaining in the NASCAR round of 16 and three Championship 4 spots at stake, all eyes have been on Kansas Speedway.

Kyle Larson was the first of the top eight drivers to score his ticket to the championship round after a win last week at Texas Motor Speedway. Of the seven remaining drivers competing for the remaining playoff spots, Kyle Blaney is the only one who has never won a race at Kansas Speedway.

Entering Sunday’s race, second, third and fourth places are separated by just nine points, with Ryan Blaney in second (4072), Denny Hamlin in third (4064) and Kyle Busch in fourth (4063). Hamlin has won at Kansas three times before, while Busch has two Kansas wins to his credit.

Even drivers in the back half of the top eight could pose a threat in Kansas and at least make things competitive in the final round of the eighth next week at Martinsville Speedway. A win by either of them could put them above the cutoff line, especially Chase Elliott and Brad Keselowski, who are just eight and 15 points behind, respectively.

A surprise is especially likely to strike and turn things around given that Hamlin and Busch are just barely above the cutoff line with nine and eight damping points, respectively.
