Almost 200 employees of Novant Health’s North Carolina headquarters, were fired after failing to comply with the mandatory COVID-19 vaccination program, which came into effect for more than two months.

Officials indicated that the workers who were fired had the opportunity to comply with the regulations in a five-day suspension period that was not paid, reported WFLA.

Until the September 15 was the deadline given to Novant employees to apply the vaccine, and those who managed to do so should apply the second dose until October 15, the health system indicated.
“We could not be more proud of the members of our team who made the decision to receive the COVID-19 vaccine and continue to be part of our team at Novant Health.”, highlighted the entity.
Employees of the Novant hospital system who were given medical or religious exemption will be required to submit weekly COVID-19 tests, use N95 masks and eye protection while they are on their working hours.
