Oilers vs. Kings Game 7: Live score, updates, highlights from first round of 2022 NHL playoffs

The Oilers vs. Kings first-round series will be decided by a Game 7 on Saturday in Edmonton.

The series has not gone as many expected. The Kings jumped out to a 3-2 series lead thanks to an Adrian Kempe OT winner in Game 5, but the Oilers responded with a 4-2 win in Game 6, thanks to a late goal by Tyson Barrie, to even the series.

Connor McDavid has done everything in his power to get the Oilers in a position to advance. He has 12 points in six games, tied with the Panthers’ Carter Verhaeghe for the playoff lead. Mike Smith has been strong in net for Edmonton, owning a 2.67 goals-against average and .931 save percentage.

On the other side, the Kings have been getting production from a number of players. Kempe leads the way with six points. Phillip Danault and Trevor Moore have five each.

The Kings are looking for their first series win since 2014 while the Oilers are trying to advance to the second round for the first time since 2017.

The Sporting News will provide live updates and highlights from this Western Conference playoff series decider.
