Why Steve Kerr changed course and removed Jonathan Kuminga from the starting lineup
Three days after announcing that he expected to start rookie Jonathan Kuminga at power forward with Draymond Green out, Warriors head coach Steve Kerr dropped Kuminga from the first unit, a decision that prompted an obvious question: What happened?
Before Tuesday night's game against the Mavericks at the Chase Center, Kerr explained his reasoning.
"I'm the coach and I reserve the right to change my mind, and I chose to change my mind," said Kerr, who replaced Kuminga with Otto Porter Jr. as the starting power forward. “Without Draymond right now, and with a minute restriction with Klay (Thompson), Andre (Iguodala) and Otto not playing back-to-back, it's been a bit of a by-ear kind of game. It seems like we have to try to find some continuity when we can.
