“LITTLE” price change between the two models

Mobile with 6.6″ screen at 144Hz, Dimensity 8100 processor, triple 64 mpx camera and 5,080 mAh battery.

In POCO they have inherited Xiaomi’s commitment to low prices and in this case they repeat the strategy that has made them famous.

POCO F4 is a mobile whose official price is 399.99 euros in the Xiaomi Store. Go up to 449 euros for the model with more capacity. It is also available on Amazon.

Meanwhile, POCO X4 GT has an official price of 379.99 euros although it can be found on sale for less than 300 euros. With double the capacity it goes up to 429.99 euros or 349.99 euros if you manage to buy it on sale.

Qualcomm vs. MediaTek: you’re in for a surprise

Smartphone with 6.67″ AMOLED screen and 120 Hz, Snapdragon 870, triple 64 Mpx camera and 4,500 mAh battery.

POCO has chosen two quite different processors for its new phones. And the result will be a big surprise for many.

POCO F4 uses a processor Snapdragon 870 and 6 GB of RAMwhile POCO X4 GT uses a MediaTek Dimensity 8100 and 8 GB of RAM.

The problem, to call it something, is that at this point the Dimensity 8100 is performing much better than Qualcomm’s similar range processors, so if you care that your mobile works well with gamesthis POCO X4 GT is without a doubt the mobile that you should choose.

AMOLED or IPS? POCO bets on very similar screens

As a general rule, when there is an option to choose between an AMOLED or IPS screen, we will almost always recommend choosing AMOLED for its level of colors and brightness, as well as power consumption. But it depends a lot on each manufacturer and their calibration.

In this case, POCO F4 uses a 6.67-inch AMOLED screen with a refresh rate of 120 Hz. In the case of POCO X4 GT, it uses a 6.6-inch 144 Hz IPS LCD screen.

In both cases, they support HDR10 and Dolby Vision content, very useful for watching compatible movies and series in streaming. But considering that the refresh rate difference is almost imperceptible, we still recommend the AMOLED panel of the POCO F4.

Little imagination in cameras: POCO clones the cameras in the two mobiles

To our surprise POCO has decided to clone the cameras in these two mobiles, although with very small differences.

Both POCO F4 and POCO X4 GT have a 64-megapixel main camera capable of recording 4K videoan 8 megapixel ultra wide angle, a 2 megapixel macro camera and a 20 megapixel front camera capable of recording video in Full HD.

The slightest differences? The main camera of POCO F4 has optical image stabilization when recording video and records 4K at 60 FPS, which will result in less shaky images.

POCO X4 GT has a slight difference of one more degree in its ultra wide angle, but it is totally unnoticeable. In video you can only record in 4K at 30 FPS.

The changes are so minimal that hardly anyone will notice them, so you shouldn’t take their cameras too seriously as they are (almost) clones.

Batteries for a very busy day or a day and a half if you are conservative

The battery is one of the most important details that we must take into account when choosing a mobile, but that we must know how to read in detail.

POCO F4 has a battery of 4,500mAh with 67 W fast charge. POCO X4 GT has a battery of 5,080mAh with the same 67W fast charge. In both cases POCO says that it is capable of charging the battery with a compatible charger in about three quarters of an hour.

What can we expect from these batteries if we add important details such as the screen or processor? Taking into account the consumption of a Snapdragon 870 and although it has an AMOLED screen, it is to be expected that the POCO F4 battery will have fewer hours of use under equal conditions against its brother.

Conclusion: choose POCO X4 GT for long term and gaming

Mobile with 6.6″ screen at 144Hz, Dimensity 8100 processor, triple 64 mpx camera and 5,080 mAh battery.

Without taking into account offers or promotions, the standard versions of the two POCOs have a difference of only 20 euros, with POCO X4 GT being the cheapest.

POCO X4 GT has more RAM memory, a processor that performs much better, the same cameras as POCO F4… The choice in this case is quite simple and in this comparison, pending our in-depth analysis, it is clear, POCO X4 GT is worth more.
