Police: Ex-boyfriend of woman last seen alive in Hudson shot, killed in Brattleboro, Vermont


Police shot and killed the ex-boyfriend of a Massachusetts woman found dead in Vermont, according to Massachusetts State Police.Officials said they found the person of interest, Matthew Davis, 34, of Fitchburg, Massachusetts, walking in West Brattleboro, Vermont. Police were looking for Davis in connection with the Massachusetts woman’s death.Police said Davis was shot around 7:45 p.m. during a confrontation with Vermont State Police and Brattleboro police. The woman, Mary Anderson, 23, of Harvard, Massachusetts, was found dead at 12:55 a.m. Tuesday on Elliot Street in a blue truck.She was last seen about 10:30 p.m. Saturday in Hudson, New Hampshire. She was reported missing by her family around 5 p.m. Sunday. Police said Anderson’s death is considered suspicious. They said an autopsy will be conducted on Wednesday to determine the cause and manner of her death. A search was underway in Harvard, Massachusetts, in connection with the search for Anderson. Detectives with the Worcester County District Attorney’s Office and Massachusetts State Police began a search Tuesday on Still River Road in connection with her disappearance, officials confirmed to WMUR’s sister station WCVB.Anyone with information related to the search in Harvard is asked to call Harvard police at 978-456-1212.Information in connection with the scene in Brattleboro is also being sought.
