Published the payment resolution for the sixth year of tobacco aid


The Ministry of Agriculture publishes this resolution in the DOE, before which an appeal may be filed within a month from this Thursday, April 21

The Ministry of Agriculture, Rural Development, Population and Territory has published in the Official Gazette of Extremadura (DOE) the announcement that notifies the resolution of payment of the sixth year of commitment of aid for integrated tobacco production, campaign 2021.

Said resolution is published on the official portal of the Ministry of Agriculture, Rural Development, Population and Territory of the Junta de Extremadura, which can be accessed with the respective personalized keys to the Arado application.

Against said resolution, which does not exhaust the administrative route, an appeal may be filed before the General Directorate of Community Agrarian Policy or before the head of the Ministry of Agriculture, within a month from this Thursday, April 21. “All this without prejudice to the fact that the interested parties may file any other resource they deem appropriate,” they explain from the Junta de Extremadura.

The pertinent resources or documentation will be addressed to the Aid and Market Regulation Service of the General Directorate of Community Agrarian Policy, of the Ministry of Agriculture, Rural Development, Population and Territory, at Avenida Luis Ramallo s/n, 06800 Mérida (Badajoz ).

Thus, as they already advanced on April 19, the Board has published the payment resolution for the sixth year of tobacco aid after the payment resolution for the fifth year of the 2021 campaign. In the latter case, said resolution may be filed against appeal within a month from last Wednesday, April 20.

It should be remembered that this notification comes in accordance with the provisions of Decree 211/2016, of December 28, which regulates the regime of agro-environmental and climatic aid and organic farming for agricultural practices compatible with the protection and improvement of the environment in the Autonomous Community of Extremadura and which modifies Decree 8/2016, of January 26, which regulates aid to areas with natural limitations or other specific limitations in the Autonomous Community of Extremadura and in accordance with the Resolution of January 28, 2021, of the General Secretariat, (DOE No. 20, of February 1).

They ask for “pressure” from multinationals to pay more for growing tobacco

The agrarian organizations UPA-UCE, Asaja Extremadura and APAG Extremadura Asaja recently asked the administrations (Central Government and Board) to “press” for the multinational tobacco companies to pay more for this product than what is going to be paid this campaign, to thus being able to “guarantee the future” of the sector.

Specifically, they asked that the multinationals pay “the same price” that is paid in areas such as Italy –with similar characteristics of production, quality and agreements as in Spain–, but where they pay around 60 cents more per kilo than in the country.
