Reactions to Brett Hankison’s not guilty verdict


The only officer to face any charges in connection to the deadly raid on Breonna Taylor’s home has been acquitted.Taylor died during a police raid in March 2020. Brett Hankison, who fired 10 shots that night, was charged for bullets that went into Taylor’s neighbor’s unit. He was indicted on three wanton endangerment charges, and on Thursday, a jury found him not guilty on all of them. She left the courtroom and declined to speak with reporters. LMPD offered this statement:”The events of March 13, 2020 are still painful for many, and since then LMPD has prioritized rebuilding trust with the communities that we serve.
