Realme has just presented in India the Realme 9i 5G. It is the “big” brother of the Realme 9i that we already know, with the difference that instead of opting for a Snapdragon 680, this new model is passed to the MediaTek Dimensity 810 to offer 5G connectivity. All this at a price of the most succulent.
And it is that, although it is true that the device has been announced in India and, therefore, we do not know its price in euros, we do know that in exchange its price starts at 185 euros to change. If we take into account that the Realme 9i 4G cost 229 euros at launch, we can get a rough idea of the price that this model will have. In any case, we will update when we know its official price in Spain.

5G arrives from the hand of MediaTek
Despite what the name might imply, the Realme 9i 5G is different from its 4G sibling. This model, for example, gets rid of the camera module and, instead, choose to integrate the lenses into the chassis itself. The finish, in addition, moves away from the lines to bet on a flatter back, but with shine.
The device is slightly lighter and thinner than the 4G model, but maintains the size and technology of the screen. Thus, we speak of a 6.6-inch IPS/LCD panel with FullHD+ resolution and 90 Hz refresh rate. Something that is striking is that Realme 9i 5G does not have a perforated panel, but instead houses the front camera in a drop-shaped notch.
Inside we find the MediaTek Dimension 810, a MediaTek SoC manufactured in a six-nanometer process with four cores at 2.4 GHz maximum speed and the Mali G-57 MC2 GPU. Beyond its components, the interesting thing is that it has an integrated 5G modem (NSA and SA) and that it allows 5G to be activated on both SIM cards. It also has WiFi 5, Bluetooth 5.2 and GPS, but there is no reference to NFC.
All this gives life 5,000 mAh battery with 18W fast charge (nothing out of the ordinary in this section) and Android 12 with Realme UI 3.0, Realme’s customization layer. Given the other specifications mentioned above, autonomy is expected to be one of its strengths, at least on paper, but we will clear up doubts when we have the opportunity to analyze it.
Finally, and when it comes to cameras, the Realme 9i 5G has a fairly basic configuration. The lot consists of a 50 megapixel main sensor, a depth sensor for portraits and a macro capable of taking photos four centimeters from the subject. It is striking that it does not have, at least, a wide angle. On the front we find a single eight megapixel camera.
