Medical rhinoplasty: a light and ephemeral intervention

This involves injecting fillers (usually hyaluronic acid) to correct minor abnormalities: flatness between the eyes, asymmetry of the wings of the nose, or even a flabby tip.

In practice: The operation is done in an office setting, sometimes under local anesthesia (ointment or prick). The practitioner then injects the hyaluronic acid using a fine needle or micro-cannula in the nose in contact with cartilage or bone. Then, you reshape the product with your finger to get the liquid in place correctly. You can follow the remodeling work in a mirror. The session lasts about 1/2 hour and can be done every year.

The consequences

The result is immediately visible, even if there may be slight edema or redness. We avoid pressing the nose for one or two days, wearing heavy frames so as not to move the product, and we avoid the sun for fifteen days.

Surgical rhinoplasty: precise and definitive

The consequences: If the surgeon has “worked” on the bone, he places a plaster on the nose, which he removes after eight days. Then you can go home that night. The nose is swollen, especially on the eyelids, and bruises may form, but the pain is mild. If the surgeon has inserted wicks or drains (which are removed on the second or third day), you may find it difficult to breathe. After three weeks, we can already have a small preview of the result knowing that the nose is still swollen and that we can only appreciate the final result after six months to a year.
