Rob Gronkowski explains film study habits: ‘I watch so many movies my girlfriend gets mad at me’

Rob Gronkowski made what appeared to be a shocking revelation on Peyton and Eli Manning’s “Monday Night Football” megacast.

“I don’t watch movies,” the Buccaneers tight end told the Manning brothers, according to “I approach Tom [Brady], because I know Tom looks like, I don’t know, 40 hours of movie a week. [I’ll ask], ‘Tom, who’s covering me and what kind of hedging are they doing?’ I say, ‘That’s why I love playing with you, Tom, you know everything.’

However, it appears that Gronkowski was only joking. Gronk cleared the air at the Bucs’ practice Wednesday and explained that he is dedicated to studying film like his teammates.

“Actually, I watch tons of movies. An overload of movies,” Gronkowski said, according to ESPN.

So why did Gronkowski say he didn’t? He was just having fun while taking part in the joyous show.

“I’m probably going to blame [Bucs vice president of communications] Nelson [Luis] “said Gronkowski.” He asked me eight times to go on the show. I said, ‘It’s not a good idea.’ They always put me in that kind of silly atmosphere, and that’s what happened. “

Apparently putting Gronkowski in a silly mental space is easy to do. Gronkowski joked that Buccaneers coach Bruce Arians told him his comments would have consequences.

“Now coach [Arians] threatened me, “Gronkowski said, jokingly.” I don’t have my vet day anymore. “

Arians had joked with reporters earlier that day that he was taking away Gronkowski’s veteran’s day off, for what may have been a brusque response from the tight end.

Gronk also explained that his film study habits are so strong that they annoy his girlfriend, model Camille Kostek.

“Trust me, I watch so many movies that my girlfriend gets mad at me. Sometimes she throws shit at me, I’m watching so many movies,” Gronkowski joked. “Sometimes I go home and she says, ‘You’ve been gone all day and now you’re studying, you took out your iPad,’ and I say, ‘Yes, I have to.’ I have to learn. ‘

Kostek denied that the story was true and claimed that Gronkowski was in a “silly mood” in practice.

NFL POWER RANKS: New team rises to No. 2 spot

It seems like Gronk just continues to have fun off the field. It looks like he’s having fun too, having racked up 12 receptions for 129 yards and a whopping four touchdowns in two games so far this season. But he also acknowledged that he is working hard to perform so well in his 11th season in the NFL.

“It never feels totally easy,” Gronkowski said. “He never really does. Even when it seems easy, he just doesn’t like, ‘Oh man, that was easy.’ Actually, it’s not because there’s a lot of work to be done. But I’d say from the way we’ve been practicing and being on the same page, we just have to [continue] to build that or else the teams will stop you. “
