The Local Police of San Fulgencio has sanctioned the owner of a furniture company, for depositing belongings on public roads, as reported by the councilor for Urban Waste of the municipality, David Vives. “This is a company that we know has done it on more occasions, traveling to other municipalities to carry out the same procedure”, has stated the mayor.
The events occurred last Thursday, when a neighbor alerted the Local Police of the presence in the area of a vehicle with advertising for a furniture delivery and collection company, whose operators had deposited a mattress and a sofa next to a container of Rosales street from the Marina urbanization. After confirming with the municipal household equipment collection company that no neighbor had requested a service in that location, the agents inspected the photographs provided by the witness and verified the ownership of the vehicle and proceeded to draw up the corresponding complaint and a fine of 760 euros to the owner of the same.
The Ordinance of Citizen Coexistence in the Public Space of San Fulgencio establishes penalties of up to 1,500 euros for the abandonment of furniture and belongings in the public thoroughfare, infractions classified as serious. The Councilor for Solid Waste and Ecological Transition has praised the action of the agents and has regretted that there are private companies from other municipalities that they dedicate themselves to carry out these actions. Something that happens in many other municipalities of the Vega Baja. With the dumping in the street, companies save on transportation and payment in an area authorized for the disposal of belongings.
Likewise, Vives has indicated that the residents of San Fulgencio “have a household and furniture collection service that removes this type of material by calling by phone at 693 927 778 to advise where they are going to be deposited ”.
The dumping of household goods on the street by companies is a problem that extends to all municipalities in La Vega. Companies save transportation and payment for the disposal of the waste in authorized sites.
For his part, the mayor of the municipality and mayor of Citizen Security, José Sampere, wanted to congratulate the agents of the San Fulgencio Local Police for the speed and effectiveness of their action that “has managed to avoid damaging the image of the municipality and hopefully serve as a dissuasive example for anyone who might think of carrying out similar actions ”.
In the same way, Sampere has indicated that from the City Council and the Local Police “we want to make a call for citizen collaboration to communicate, through the telephone 966 79 44 52, any indication of activity that may be suspicious or irregular that is carry out in the municipality ”.
