Santiago Solari Argentine coach of America de México, which defeated the UANL Tigres this Saturday with a score of 1-0, revealed what he considers to have been the secret for his team to achieve the success of securing the leadership of the Apertura 2021 tournament in advance. According to Solari, the team wins “because they play like a family.”

“We are very happy because we have secured the leadership and we have achieved that thanks to the fact that we are a family and we play as such, because each player who enters the field is up to the task ”, confessed the coach at the end of the game on the fifteenth day.

With the victory against the Tigers, America reached 34 points and claimed to finish in first place in the standings of the Apertura, in which he adds 10 wins, four draws and one defeat.

What’s more, the team remains undefeated at their home, the Azteca stadium, where he accumulates seven victories and a draw.

The Eagles of America has an 11-point advantage over second place, Atlas with 23, to which there are three games left in which, if he wins, he would aspire to reach 32 points.

“We are happy with what has been achieved, so I want to extend congratulations to the entire team for their effort. What is achieved in each game is the merit of my players who work together and give their best, that fills me with pride ”, Solari insisted.

The strategist stressed the attention that his managers must pay to not slow down because in the Mexican championship, after the regular tournament, he enters a final phase in which the title is disputed in direct elimination duels.

“All the teams make it very difficult. We’ve found a way to win, but we can’t look beyond tomorrow. We have to recover to close the tournament well, which does not end with the regular phase, but the league comes ”.

Santiago Solari stopped the enthusiasm for having secured the first position of the Apertura.

“More than celebrating, we are attentive to what is coming to us. We could not access this final stage if we had not done what we have achieved so far, on the contrary, the competition always demands the maximum from you and the most demanding part is coming ”, he pointed out.

America beat the Tigres 1-0 in a match played at the Azteca stadium with a goal from Mexican Henry Martín.

On the sixteenth day of the Apertura 2021, the Eagles will visit Cruz Azul on Sunday, October 31.
