“Seduce and then pounce”: Lady Gaga studied panthers for her role in House of Gucci | Lady Gaga

Lady Gaga has revealed that she had some animal inspiration for her murderous role as an abandoned ex-wife in the new House of Gucci movie.

His portrayal of Patrizia Reggiani, who was assassinated in the 1990s by fashion heir Maurizio Gucci (Adam Driver), is already gaining popularity at the Oscars.

And at a press conference ahead of her US movie premiere later this month, the singer-actress says she turned to the animal kingdom for help in portraying every stage of Reggiani’s life.

“At the beginning of his life, I [channelled] a cat, like a house cat, “Lady Gaga told reporters.

“In the middle of the movie … I was a fox. So I studied the way foxes hunt, and they are actually quite playful when hunting.

“And then I studied panthers to the end. I watched a lot of videos about the way panthers hunt. And they are somewhat seductive … in a way they seduce and then they pounce. “

Early criticism has sprung up about Lady Gaga’s performance, with many expecting another Oscar nomination to coincide with her 2018 screen debut in A Star is Born.

Also striking is Jared Leto, who endured six hours of makeup every day to transform himself into the plump, bald playboy Paolo Gucci.

“I really used [those six hours] as an opportunity to work on the inner life of the character, ”Leto said.

“It was a great time to focus and meditate on the character.”

The film is directed by British director Ridley Scott, who is behind some of the most famous films of the last 40 years, including Blade Runner, Alien, Gladiator, and Thelma and Louise.

But it was Scott’s wife who pushed for many years for the film to be made, according to Salma Hayek, who plays Reggiani’s mother.

“It turns out that I am very good friends with Giannina Scott, so I watched her fight for this for 20 years,” Hayek said at the press conference.

“I wanted to do the story of a woman that everyone sees only as a gold digger … but in reality, she really loved this man.”

‘She was just too hurt’

Lady Gaga agreed that there was more to the story than just greed.

“Not only did she love Maurizio, but she loved what he wanted to say and the way he empowered her within the family business,” she said.

“And when they took that away from him … he reacted in a way that most women don’t, most women don’t have their husbands killed.

“And yet, I think in that system, with this kind of systemic oppression, this happened because she was just too hurt.”

House of Gucci is Ridley Scott’s second film to hit theaters this year after The Last Duel, also starring Driver alongside Matt Damon and Ben Affleck.

Well received by critics, that film was something of a box office flop.

Initial reactions to House of Gucci have also been mixed.

While everyone seemed mesmerized by Lady Gaga, Brandon Katz of the New York Observer called the film “overworked.”

Many others were swept up, with Variety’s Jazz Tangcay tweeting that it was “insanely delicious” and Entertainment Weekly writer Joey Nolfi describing it as “juicy caviar camp.”
