Selectivity admits errors in the Valenciano exam and will raise its hand in the correction

From the Department of Universities they add that the regional manager of the university entrance exams has requested a technical report from the commission that wrote this exercise “and if there are errors, it is assumed”, they emphasize.

On the other hand, they specify, to questions from this newspaper, that whenever errors occur, corrections are made “in favor of the students” and that each of the coordinators of this exercise at each university “will study the complaints and give an answer.”

In the case of University of Alicante have confirmed that, indeed, they have received qwritten complaints that they are the only ones that can officially transcend, and that after the corresponding review mechanism, always attending to academic and scientific criteria, the correction criteria will be unified in the event of problems that may have arisen.

The complaints focus on the section of the Valenciano test on the sociolinguistic analysis due to the doubts generated between some of the options to choose from, such as the question about whether the pronunciation of the last “e” of “perquè” is open or closed. From the coordination of the tests it has been admitted that the answer would be different according to the geographical point of the Community, so it has been moved that when qualifying these questions the two options, open and closed, are accepted as good.

Teachers of the institutes also agree in pointing out that they have entered the test modifications compared to previous years on the common syntax and pronouns worked in the classrooms, which they do not consider appropriate in a year marked by the pandemic and for which both the ministry and the conselleria had committed themselves, “it was not a year to do experiments,” they regret from one of the Valencian courts

«Vocabulary difficulties», references to «San Vicent de fora» in the questions, or the inclusion of phrases in the topics to be chosen such as that «teachers retire early because they are fed up and bitter» abound in the discomfort generated by this exercise .

The Spanish test goes back to the History test

Voices contrary to the Spanish test In Selectividad they have also been heard, although with much less intensity and controversy than on Valenciano. From some institutes they pose doubts about objectivity when correcting an exercise that assesses “the originality and firmness of the arguments”, when one of the topics to choose requires writing between 200 and 300 words “What does it mean for you to be a patriot?” They have also missed the analysis of modalization.
