Snow squalls on Saturday
that was the scene on both sides of the lake today. It’s being closed down because of the rising water and a lot of ice jams as well. Tyler like the one behind you. Yeah, the toughest situation I think was in Ausubel Forks in new york. I’m hopeful that this means it doesn’t happen again in March because sometimes that’s really when the thought happens. But when you look at the forecast maybe this is, it would certainly be good news if this was it that video there from the possible river most of the big ice chunks being washed away and we’ve got a really cool shot here from our Plattsburgh camera. There’s a big moon out there if you haven’t seen it. So there’s enough light to pick out some of the leftover cloudiness overhead but it’s a cold night again. 10 in Plattsburgh, thankfully not much wind right now but a lot of spots in the single digits Ellensburg starting the sub zero club right now Shay’s is at 0 12 and water berry nine for sto I think tomorrow night will be cold again. So it’s basically two in a row six below right now in Massena we don’t have any snow over us on storm tracker but this will be our story for tomorrow. It’s a real hefty line of snow through Chicago right now snow squall warnings. That’s what those purple boxes are. And that basically means it’s 20 or 30 minutes of heavy snow that could cover things over ice. Things up make the roads slick and this is it tomorrow morning at eight o’clock. It’s getting to Massena, there may be some light snow ahead of it. That’s not the line of heavy snow. It’s not the snow squall. It’s really this line here which reaches the champlain valley 11 o’clock in the morning and then it gets to the new Hampshire border by about one p.m. So it’s a real fast mover. That was 8 to 1 so about five hours for it to traverse the whole area. But again, right when it comes through could be blinding snow on the highway, that kind of thing. And then the sun comes out, there will be some sun tomorrow. There is also sun sunday morning and when you look at the whole weekend I think sunday morning is the least windy. So there’s sun, it’s cold but there’s not a lot of wind sunday morning and by later sunday the wind is really gusty again like 40 miles an hour out of the south, just so hard to escape the wind this time of year By presidents day, Monday. It’s cloudy with a few flurries but we’re in the 40s. So just sorting this wind out again tomorrow afternoon. 30 to 40 miles an hour out of the west. Right as the snow comes through, the break in, the wind is sunday morning there’s a little area of high pressure that’s overhead just long enough and then by late on sunday we start to really bring in some warm air Out of the South. So it’s a south wind 40 or so miles an hour. Sunday evening into Sunday night. So single digits tomorrow morning again and we’ll do that tomorrow night too. But thankfully the highest tomorrow up near 30 degrees 29 in Jericho. Remember the snow squalls are coming through in the mid part of the day. There may be sun before sun after. But rate is that comes through some very heavy snow for a little bit And for Southern Vermont 35 in Brattleboro. So not quite the 60 of the other day but still feeling pretty good in the 30’s 29 on Sunday and then 44 for Monday President’s day. Just a flurry or two on Monday it’s mostly dry and then we’ve got another bigger storm in here Tuesday that’s rain or an icy mix. It might depend on how far north and south you are. On Tuesday. I think there’s a big range in temperature right now we’ll say 44 in the Champlain Valley and then it turns colder Wednesday late into Thursday with more snow possible on Friday of next week Brian Alice. All right. Tyler. Mhm. Mhm. Right
