sustainable sailing will be the protagonist at VBS

The Valencia Boat Show by Insurnautic maintains its commitment to the most technological and sustainable nautical, with a specific area of the exhibition dedicated entirely to blue growth, one of the strategic axes of La Marina de València, organizer of the event together with the Union of Nautical Companies (UEN).

This space will bring together nautical companies linked to the field of innovation and sustainability, with a wide range of hybrid, electric and sustainable boats, virtual rooms, nautical apps, innovative technological solutions, startups, companies that are dedicated to converting boats to electric / solar, eco-boat shipyards, electric motor brands, sails with solar panels, solar pontoons, ecological swimwear or made from seabed plastics, among others.

The solar catamaran shipyard Silent Yachts has already confirmed its presence in this new section, in which it will exhibit several of its models that work entirely with solar energy, offering a unique combination between the silence of a sailing trip and the luxury of a large motor boat.

Another of the first additions to this new section is Movesea, a company specialized in underwater drones, as well as the technological startup Proteus Innovation, which has developed a USV (Unmanned Surface Vehicle), a 1m long unmanned boat capable of coming to the rescue of a victim to provide a flotation device and tow him to a safe area, avoiding putting the rescuer’s life at risk.

The latest generation digital platforms Paperboat and Connected Boat will also not be lacking in the innovation zone. Paperboat is the only real-time mooring reservation system that integrates with marinas, marinas and yacht club management programs, while Connected Boat allows smart sensor monitoring of all aspects of the boat, from speed to level of bilge water, and consult them in a single app.

Tesla, contributor

The electric vehicle brand Tesla also joins the new edition of the Valencian boat show and its commitment to innovation and sustainability in 2021. Elon Musk’s company becomes a collaborator of the Valencia Boat Show by Insurnautic and will have an area of exhibition in the new area of innovation and sustainability of the event, where attendees will be able to learn about the different models of the brand.

Azimut Marine more sustainable than ever

Another of the most powerful presences in this sustainable boating area will be Azimut Marine, which for a year has had a new hybridization and electric motorization division for boats.

This division covers the development of 100% electric projects, lithium batteries, as well as the conversion of any combustion engine into a hybrid solution, reducing Co2 emissions by 50%, lengthening the life of combustion engines and reducing the cost maintenance and fuel.

“The commitment to the environment and the search for new solutions in which technology is applied to improve performance and reduce emissions has ceased to be a trend to become a reality and a necessity. The number of companies that join this blue growth is incredible, and we want all of them to have their visibility space at the Valencia Boat Show “, says Laura Olmedo, director of Innovation and Sustainability of the event and directly responsible for this new area.

A history of continuous innovation

The Valencia Boat Show by Insurnautic has demonstrated its ability to reinvent the concept of the boat show. In 2019 it combined the commercial and professional exhibition with a great open sea festival for all citizens, and had an area dedicated to nautical 4.0, in which startups, revolutionary prototypes and innovative initiatives related to the sector were present. In 2020, with the outbreak of the health crisis, the show was reinvented to celebrate the Virtual Valencia Boat Show, the first 100% virtual boat show, with a great success of participation.

Innovation and sustainability will be one of the hallmarks of the 2021 edition of the Valencia Boat Show by Insurnautic, which is held from October 28 to November 1 in La Marina de València.
