Second half
Atkinson pulls down his 16th rebound and gets fouled by Sidibe. His two free throws gives him 18 points. He gets fouled again and he’s going back to the free throw line.
Wesley makes a pair of free throws to give Notre Dame a 72-67 lead, but Swider fakes out his defender and drains a long two-pointer.
Jimmy Boeheim has 25 points after another score inside, bringing Syracuse within five points. He gets fouled on the next SU possession and makes both free throws, bringing Syracuse within three points. His 27 points are the most he’s scored in a Syracuse uniform since transferring from Cornell.
Timeout at 2:52: Notre Dame 70, Syracuse 63.
Hubb knocks down a rainbow 3-pointer to give Notre Dame a five-point lead, followed by a layup by Wesley. Notre Dame is back up by seven. Hubb has six points, seven rebounds and 10 assists.
Timeout at 4:00: Notre Dame 65, Syracuse 63.
Torrence finds Sidibe for a layup and brings Syracuse within four points. Sidibe gets fouled on the next Orange possession and makes both free throws. Syracuse is down two points with four minutes left.
Swider is charged with an offensive foul after driving baseline. It’s his first foul of the game.
Sidibe has a big block, but the ball lands in Ryan’s hands and he knocks down a deep 3-pointer. Symir Torrence scores a layup on the next time down for Syracuse.
Jimmy Boehiem drives inside an floats it off the high glass to bring Syracuse within five points.

Buddy Boeheim inbounds to Bourama Sidibe, who gives it right back to Boeheim for a wide-open 3 from the corner. Boeheim has 20 points. He knocks down another mid-range shot to bring Syracuse within seven points.
Torrence splits a pair of free throws to bring Syracuse within 10, but Atkinson scores inside on the other end.

Notre Dame’s run extends to 10 after Ryan scores from the midrange. Laszewski connects on his fifth 3-pointer to give Notre Dame an 11-point lead.

Torrence turns the ball over, which leads to another 3 by Notre Dame.
Notre Dame takes the lead back after a 3-pointer by Ryan.

Boeheim gets his turnaround jumper to go down to cap a 7-0 run by Syracuse to tie the game at 45. Jimmy Boeheim has 19 after he attacks the basket and scores on a floater. He is 7-of-12 from the field.

First half
Buddy Boeheim comes up short on a mid-range shot, which will end the half.

Laszewski connects on a 3-pointer to give Notre Dame a four-point lead.
Buddy Boeheim splits a pair of free throws and Syracuse is tied with Notre Dame at 37.
Jimmy Boeheim has 14 points after getting a layup to go, but Atkinson grabs an offensive rebound on the other end and slams it down over Syracuse freshman Benny Williams.

Atkinson will go to the free throw line at the other end of the timeout.
Goodwin give Notre Dame a one-point lead with a pullup jumper, but Jimmy Boeheim counters with a layup to give the edge back to Syracuse. Boeheim has nine points so far. Buddy Boeheim passes to Jimmy Boeheim for a 3 on the wing. The Boeheim brothers have 12 points each and 24 of Syracuse’s 32 points.

Blake Wesley knocks down a 3 to give Notre Dame a 14-13 lead. He’s up to six points from two triples. Ryan makes a mid-range jumper, but Cole Swider counters with a 3-pointer to give Syracuse a 19-16 lead.
Jimmy Boeheim gets fouled and heads to the free throw line. He makes both freebies to give Syracuse a 10-9 lead. Cole Swider drills his first 3-pointer of the game from the top of the key.

Jim Boeheim makes his first sub as he sends Bourama Sidibe in for Frank Anselem. Buddy Boeheim converts on a 3-point play to give him six points. The Boeheim brothers have scored every point for Syracuse so far.
Syracuse strikes first as Jimmy Boeheim gets a right-handed hook shot to go down, scoring the first basket for the Orange. Buddy Boeheim adds a 3-pointer to give Syracuse a 5-3 lead.
