The AVI foresees 190 million euros in aid for innovation projects between 2022 and 2024

The new Strategic Plan of Subsidies of the Valencian Innovation Agency (AVI) for the period 2022-2024 foresees the granting of 190 million euros in aid to promote more than 1,200 innovation actions and projects during its validity period. This is stated in the Official Gazette of the Generalitat Valenciana (DOGV), which has published the new Strategic Plan for Subsidies of the Valencian Innovation Agency (AVI) for the next three years. In this way, the AVI aims to encourage the development of innovative solutions to challenges of great significance and economic, social and environmental relevance through the collaboration of companies, universities, research centers and technological institutes of the Valencian Community.

In order to optimize and quantify the effectiveness of these incentives, this technical instrument establishes a framework for the management, planning and control of subsidy activity, which will guide the action of the AVI during 2022 and the following two. However, lThe effects of the plan will actually last until 2026, since the term for executing the aid in competitive competition is three years.

“Our intention is to promote projects that generate a significant impact on the productive model of the Valencian Community, whose transformation, through the incorporation of knowledge, is the main objective of the Valencian Innovation Agency”, has assured the executive vice president of the AVI , Andres Garcia Reche.

This document, which has been approved by resolution of the Councilor for Innovation, Universities, Science and Digital Society, Carolina Pascual, contemplates a total of twelve grant lines, endowed with 52 million euros in its first year, for the achievement of four strategic objectives. The improvement of the connection between the different agents that make up the innovation system, the incorporation of technological knowledge in companies, the revitalization of the Public Procurement of Innovation in the Administration and the increase in the technological content of productive activities entail the main goals of the AVI for these three annuities.

The new strategic plan consolidates the lines of grant effective in 2021 and that nourish the call for aid in competitive concurrence of the AVI. Particularly noteworthy is the one that specifically finances strategic projects in collaboration and those for the consolidation of the business value chain, which accounts for half of the provision planned for this period. A progressive increase in the economic allocation of the Talent Promotion and Promotion of Public Procurement of Innovation (CPI) lines is also foreseen.

In the first case, the funds allocated encourage the incorporation of researchers and technologists in companies, as well as the completion of doctorates within their own teams. And, in addition, they help to consolidate a network of innovation agents capable of improving the connection between the scientific and business spheres. Regarding the ICC, the incentives are primarily focused on city councils and county councils, as demanding innovative solutions, as well as companies, in order to encourage their participation in this type of procedure.

On the other hand, the strengthening of the support received until now by the Scientific Units of Business Innovation is confirmed, a figure promoted by the AVI and aimed at stimulating the transfer of knowledge and the development of technological solutions and innovations for companies in the Valencian Community .

Regarding the nominative lines, the aid is maintained to promote the development of innovations in the health environment, those destined to science parks to promote the transfer of knowledge and technology between university-business, and support for the development and promotion of the innovative technologies through the Inndromeda Alliance.
