The chronological feed has returned to Instagram and is accompanied by two new options

Instagram brings back one of its best features and does so by adding two new options to manage how posts appear.

In the era of algorithms when it comes to consuming content on social networks, Instagram has taken a small step so that users can once again enjoy the publications as they were created: chronologically. And, it is that, this feature disappeared from the social network several years ago and it seemed like it would never come back.

What the Meta photo and video social network has done is launch a statement through Twitter. Throughout the video what is understood is that the chronological mode returns, but with a little trick and accompanied by two new options. These options are intended to modify the feed.

It is interesting that the social network is committed to this way of understanding the feed after many years having the algorithm as the beacon to follow when interacting on the social network. The arrival of the chronological order in the publications tab has been quite well received by users.

And, it is that, To date, disorder and the algorithm were the only way to consume content within Instagram. In fact, many times it was almost mandatory to visit the profiles of friends, content creators or companies to be able to see this content because Instagram did not deign to show it and, instead, promoted others.

However, the novelty of the chronological order does not come alone. Those of Instagram have wanted to heal in health and, above all, continue offering interaction to algorithm so they have added two new ways to see the publications that are made within the social network of photos and videos.

These new ways are following and favorites. The names are quite explicit and perfectly indicate what is going to be seen if one or another way of interacting with the content is selected. In the first, what is going to be are the contents of the users that we follow and in the second, those that we have in favorites.

Being in both cases the sample of these contents in chronological order. The way in which users will be able to switch between these two options will appear right on the main Instagram screen and will be revealed by clicking on the application’s logo. However, do not rush. And, it is that, the update will be progressive and will reach everyone equally.

It is best to make sure that the application is up to date by going to the app store of mobile devices, both Android and iOS, and checking that there is no pending version to install.
