The Department of Territorial Policy, Public Works and Mobility has opened to the public, after completing its remodeling, the extension of the Paseo Marítimo Gómiz Alicante, as noted by the Minister Arcadi Spain. Thus, the head of Public Works has highlighted that, with the commissioning of the extension of the promenade, “the relationship between the city of Alicante and the sea and, consequently, between the city and its neighbors will improve and significantly increase which will mean an increase in the clifetime of life“.
According to Arcadi Spain, “with this action, citizens recover space and the use of the car has been rationalized, especially on the seafront”. In short, he pointed out, “we are moving towards more sustainable cities, creating spaces where the protagonists are people.” He has also highlighted the biosaludable nature of the park located to the north of the promenade that will have sustainable urban furniture made with recycled material.
He has also valued the importance of collaboration between administrations “to carry out actions of this type designed for and by people” and has recalled that the extension of the walk, “as a result of the shared agenda between the Generalitat and the Alicante City Council“.
The Department of Territorial Policy, Public Works and Mobility has carried out the remodeling of the Gómiz Promenade and the road reorganization from Postiguet beach to its connection with Villajoyosa avenue in Alicante.
With a budget of 413,410 euros, the action consisted of the reorganization of some 300 meters of the seafront located north of Postiguet beach, in an extension of the well-known Paseo Marítimo Gómiz, and the execution of a park in the plots located next to north of the promenade.
The ptoilet has an average width of 6 meterss, and occupies an area of approximately 2,000 square meters. Likewise, the land has been remodeled on the plots located between the promenade and the FGV facilities and a park area with an approximate area of 3,500 square meters has been set up.
Similarly, this promenade and the park area have been equipped with street furniture and lighting. In addition to an area for petanque and another for healthy games, two pergolas have been placed to create shady areas between the promenade and the park. Along the entire perimeter of the performance there are green areas with trees and shrub species.
Additionally, a cul-de-sac has been built at the southern end to give continuity to the entrances and exits of the road and a road connection will be made to give continuity to the rest of the road that maintains the Road Traffic.
