This 15th century painting reflects how the Tordesillas treaty was signed.

In the heart of Spain, in the middle of the cold and arid Castilian lands, stands a small town of 141 square kilometers.

It is currently inhabited by about 9,000 people and holds the title of “very illustrious, ancient, crowned, loyal and most noble town”.

There a historical event occurred 527 years ago that determined the political and territorial configuration of America, divided the world into two hemispheres and defined the language and culture of millions of people.

That locality is called Tordesillas, is located north of Madrid.
