The day fair in the center of Cáceres will be held from May 24 to 29, from 1:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., coinciding with the San Fernando 2022 holidays. Finally, the City Council has authorized hoteliers to install counters outside, in the area occupied by its terraces, but without cane growers. They will also be able to decorate the street and the facades of their premises and have a musical setting during the six days, as reported by the Consistory on Tuesday.

No street will be closed to traffic for security reasons, although capacity may be temporarily limited due to the crowding of people, and there will be special surveillance by the Local Police.

«Our fair has a large public for very different things, to experience it in their neighborhoods, in the center or at the fair; and we want to help the hotel industry that has had such a bad time due to the pandemic so that wealth and jobs are generated. We want a safe fair for everyone, “said the mayor, Luis Salaya.

As in other events, the use of reusable cups will be encouraged to minimize plastic as much as possible.

The official lighting of the cover and subsequent fireworks display at the fairgrounds will be on Tuesday at 11:00 p.m., although the preferred starts this Thursday 19 with attractions and booths. In total there will be eleven festive days in which the San Fernando Fair recovers its traditional format.

Salaya highlighted, in this sense, that the preference is consolidated with activities on two weekends and also two children’s days, Friday 20 and Tuesday 24, with discounts on attractions. In addition, there will be times without music for people with high hearing sensitivity every day from 8:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m.

As this newspaper has reported, there will be nine private booths with the award model that was carried out in 2020, plus the municipal one and the largest one that are in tender.

Regarding children’s programming, the puppets of Peneque el Valiente and Gorgorito will not miss their appointment, who will be on the Paseo de Cánovas, starting at 12:30 p.m. on May 27, 28 and 29. Likewise, the Trade Fair will be installed in the park, which will open to the public on Tuesday 24.

Sport activities

As for sporting activities, they will begin this weekend with the 77th National Equestrian Show Jumping City of Cáceres at the Equestrian Enclosure from 12:00 to 2:00 p.m. and from 4:00 to 9:00 p.m. For its part, the Cáceres World Heritage Swimming Trophy will take place at the Ciudad Deportiva on May 21 and 22 from 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.

Meanwhile, the JUDEX BTT Cycling Closing Championship will be at the Vía de la Plata park (Montesol circuit) on May 22 from 10:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. And the Fencing Tournament will be held in the Juan Serrano Macayo pavilion on May 29 at 9:00 a.m.

Salaya outlined that the City Council will maintain its commitment to the fight against sexual assault and harassment, installing a Violet Point and distributing information material among vendors and cassette vendors.
