This week begins with a solid list of nine NBA action games to bet on, I have to be honest, this is my favorite list of the season so far.
The Dallas Mavericks and Houston Rockets play on NBA TV, the Celtics and Raptors face off, and two 4-2 squads in Indiana and New Orleans also start tonight. I have a couple of better bets, a town parlay, and a version of an Eastern Conference showdown that you’ll want to stick with.

NBA Best Bets – Monday, January 4
Boston Celtics vs Toronto Raptors (-4.5) Total: 218.5
The Celtics and Raptors are Teams heading in different directions to start the season. Boston has won three of their last four games, while the Raptors have lost four of their last five. Toronto appears to be in trouble this season. Pascal Sikkim hasn’t been playing well and no one else from Toronto has stepped up. Playing in Tampa so far seems to be a major problem for them.
This game opened with the Raptors as a 2.5-point favorite, and the crowd, unsurprisingly, is heavily backing the underdog Celtics. However, the hard money has pushed the Raptors down to -5 at some bookmakers. The Celtics will have Jayson Tatum and Fallen Brown in the lineup tonight, so one might wonder what punters see on the Raptors, but it’s pretty simple. The Celtics are playing their third straight road game, their fifth road game of their last six games, and this qualifies as a poor spot for Boston. I agree with sharps and will score with the Raptors tonight. This would also be called fading a modern loser.
Best bet: Raptors -4.5
Indiana Pacers vs New Orleans Pelicans (-1.5) Total: 216.5
This should be one of the best games on the board tonight, The Pelicans and Pacers have been very impressive to start the season, both Teams enter tonight’s game relatively healthy and playing on a day off. Zion Williamson is playing great in his second season, but Brandon Ingram is the best player on the Pelicans, the Pacers are riding the big play from Mantas Saxons to start the season, this will be a one possession game. The Pelicans are getting most of the control of the spread and the number has gone up to -2 at some points, what I find interesting is that the Pacers are getting 50% of the money line bets, as they should be because they are the best. Team in my opinion. Zion Williamson is a favorite of public gamblers, this is the perfect game to banish the public. Don’t forget to drip on the money line.
Best bet: Markers +1.5

The village parlay
Tonight’s “People’s Parlay” is an all-time favorite. You know how that normally goes, so be careful with this one.
- Philadelphia 76ers money line -420
- Miami Heat Money Line -480
- Sacramento Kings Moraine – 129
- Payment via DraftKings Sportsbook +167
Cleveland Cavaliers vs Orlando Magic (-5.5)
This game comes down to the health of two key players. If Darius Garland plays for Cleveland and Evan Fournier plays for Orlando, take the points with the Cars. If Fournier plays and Garland is out, put the number in with Magic. If both Teams are in top form or both players miss the game, stay away.
