The Ultimate model of the Honor Magic 4 boasts of having the highest score of the prestigious DXOMARK photographic benchmark, which tests all the phones that are released on the market. This Honor Magic 4 Ultimate approves and with a note.
Honor has unveiled an Ultimate edition of its Magic 4 smartphone, which was announced at Mobile World Congress 2022 earlier this year. From what we can see, the bet is totally photographic.
The Honor Magic 4 Ultimate sports a quad rear camera setup that is led by a 50MP main sensor. with a custom 8P lens. It is joined by a 64 Mpx ultra wide angle sensor, a 64 Mpx periscopic telephoto lens and a 50 Mpx enhanced spectrum camera.
To all this is added a new image processor custom made for this phone. Without a doubt, a declaration of intent on the part of Honor.
The 1/1.12-inch primary sensor has an aperture of f/1.6 which is said to rival cameras with a 1-inch sensor and an f/1.8 aperture in the amount of light it lets through.
As a result, night photos or low light portraits are brighterwith more vivid colors, better defined objects and minimal visual artifacts.
Custom 8P lens comes with a 37% improvement in center sharpness and a 30% improvement in edge sharpnesshelping you produce photos and videos that look detailed even when zoomed in.
With this and a 64 Mpx periscope camera, it’s a serious rival to the mighty Samsung Galaxy S22 Ultra, which is currently the best smartphone camera for taking zoom photos. It comes with a 3.5x optical zoom and up to 100x digital zoom.
The 50MP main camera also features Ultra-Reflective Coating (UAR) and Infrared Cut Filter (IRCF) which effectively minimizes glare from strong light sources, an issue we’ve seen on flagship iPhone and Samsung Galaxy devices.
The 64MP ultra-wide lens, meanwhile, offers a 126-degree field of view with the help of the world’s first free-form dual lens, which keeps edge distortion to 0.5%.
All of the above is achieved with the help of a new bespoke image processor that supports faster and more efficient AI calculations for better shots, even in difficult lighting conditions. 4K can be recorded in night mode on this Ultimate model.
The Honor Magic 4 Ultimate features a 6.81-inch OLED LTPO display with support for a 120Hz refresh rate. Like the Honor Magic 4 Pro, the Ultimate is powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 on a chip.
It comes with MagicUI 6.0 based on Android 12, complete with Google Play services and all the usual Google apps installed. The Honor Magic 4 Ultimate will go on sale in China later this year for 7,999 Chinese yuan, which translates to about $1,260.
