The two most wanted Portuguese robbers at the moment in Spain and Portugal are back at work in Extremadura. Nélida Cristina Alves Guerreiro (40 years old) and Sidney Alberto Pereira Martins (42 years old) robbed a service station in Zarza la Mayor, a municipality in Cáceres on the border with the neighboring country last night. The Civil Guard later followed them to the border with Portugal, so it is believed that they are in Portuguese territory. The robbery occurred at 11:30 p.m. at the Avia service station, located on the EX-117, on the way through the municipality, and resulted in no injuries.

With last night there would already be four robberies committed by these violent criminals in Extremadura, after three other robberies in the province of Badajoz. The previous one happened this week. Specifically, it took place last Wednesday at a service station in Torrefresneda, late in the afternoon at the gas station located next to the A-5 motorway. In Badajoz capital they assaulted the worker at the gas station located next to the bus station at gunpoint and in broad daylight and, two days later, they acted again at a service station in Talavera la Real.

The Civil Guard asked for citizen collaboration on Wednesday to locate Nélida Cristina and Sidney Alberto, whom they described as “armed and dangerous.” These robbers have been on Spanish soil for more than two weeks, where they have not stopped committing crimes, after committing another handful of assaults in the Portuguese Algarve. On Thursday it was learned that they are also being investigated for their alleged participation in three homicides in the area of ​​the city of Bragança, in northern Portugal, and that they were tried and acquitted in 2019 for the murder of a man a year earlier.

The start of the flight began in July at a gas station in Faro, the capital of the Algarve, and continued at another in Almancil and two more in the same area. In all cases they used a short pistol and a large knife and to leave the place they used stolen vehicles.
