At the time of writing this news, it has collected €23.3 millionbut the figure increases every minute. 108,346 people they have already bought it.
And what can be so successful that so many people blindly buy it? A secret iPhone? A new Nintendo console? Rosalía’s new album? It’s not about Four books. But not just any four books. They have been written by the most popular science-fiction and fantasy writer of the 21st century. And no, it’s not George RR Martin…
We talk about Brandon Sanderssona prolific author of dozens of books, most of them set in his imaginary universe, the cosmere. The books take place on different planets and times, but they all follow the same rules of magic, time or evolution.
If you’re curious and want to read one, it’s a good idea to start with The Final Empire, the first in the Mistborn saga.
Sanderson is also the author of the final trilogy of The Wheel of Time, which he wrote after the death of the original author, Robert Jordan. A series based on this saga is currently broadcast on Amazon Prime Video. You can watch the trailer here:
The writer explains that in his spare time he came up with four novels of about 400 pages each with very specific themesand decided to market them through KickStarter.
Three of them are set in the Cosmere, and a fourth is something else entirely.. They are the only data that have sufficed to beat the KickStarter record.
Sanderson thought to raise a million euros in 30 days, but he reached the amount in just 35 minutes… In a week it takes 23 million eurosso the figure can skyrocket when it reaches the month of term.

The four books will be available the months of January, April, July and October 2023.

Leaving aside the questionable decision that a famous and very successful person use KickStarter for their projects, when its essence is to give visibility to invisible projects, no one questions the merit of Branson Sanderson.
