The province of Badajoz launches five new charging stations

The Alburquerque, Fuente de Cantos, Jerez de los Caballeros, Llerena and Monesterio charging stations have come into operation

Since this week, the province of Badajoz has five new recharging points for electric vehicles. The new charging stations are located in Alburquerque, Fuente de Cantos, Jerez de los Caballeros, Llerena and Monesterio. With these additions, the provincial network launched by the Badajoz Provincial Council within the MOVEM Plan reaches 29 recharging points in operation.

The recharging points in Jerez de los Caballeros, Llerena and Monesterio have fast charging (50 kW) and those in Alburquerque and Fuente de Cantos have semi-fast charging (22kW).

300 users

After the commissioning of the intelligent network of charging stations in the province of Badajoz, on January 3, 2,700 recharges have been registered in the first three months of operation, and it already has more than 300 active users on the platform.

The network has 32 charging stations, 9 of them fast-charging (50 kW) and 23 semi-fast-charging (22 kW), it is public and free to use. Each of them allows two vehicles to be charged simultaneously 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, with the exception of the charging station located on the La Cocosa estate (Badajoz), subject to the operating hours of the Training Center in Sustainability and Environmental Education (CCSEA).

The provincial network currently offers active charging stations in the municipalities of Alburquerque, Azuaga, Badajoz, Cabeza del Buey, Calamonte, Campanario, Campillo de Llerena, Castuera, La Cocosa farm (Badajoz), Don Benito, Fregenal de la Sierra, Fuente de Cantos, Guareña, Herrera del Duque, Hornachos, Jerez de los Caballeros, Llerena, Monastery, Navalvillar de Pela, Oliva de la Frontera, Puebla de la Calzada, Puebla de Obando, San Pedro de Mérida, Santa Marta de los Barros, San Vicente of Alcántara, Talarrubias, Villafranca de los Barros, Villanueva de la Serena and Zafra.

Soon they will be added to these located in Olivenza, Talavera la Real and Villanueva del Fresno.

To access the recharge process, the user must have the application (Wenea) installed on their mobile phone, available for iOS and Android, and be registered with it. Soon, it will also be possible to access the charging stations by means of an RFID card, which may be requested by users.

The website www.movembadajoz.es has been made available to users, where they can consult all the information related to charging stations, download the application for access to recharges, register as a user of the network or access the data of the use made of it.

The MOVEM Plan of the Diputación de Badajoz has the function of promoting electric mobility, and in its first phase it provided all the municipalities of the province of Badajoz with an electric vehicle to attend municipal, police or rural nursery services.

In this second phase of the Plan, the province has been provided with a recharging infrastructure, essential to attend to the displacement of the fleet of electric vehicles existing in the province, and of those foreign users who may require occasional recharging during their stay or passing through our territory.
