The US will analyze the remains of the Chinese balloon to find out what it spied on

Several ships of the United States Navy and Coast Guard have been the ones that have secured this Saturday the area around the chinese spy balloonshot down on the Atlantic coast off the states of North and South Carolina, after it and the imaging devices it was carrying sank to a depth of about 14 meters, according to US military sources.

It is underwater drones and military divers who participate in the rescue of those remains, which will analyze the US Defense and Intelligence as said by the same sources in a conference with journalists on Saturday afternoon. There is still no certainty what remains can be recovered, as the balloon was shot down by a missile.

After recovering what it can, the US government will analyze the remains, to try to find out what material was on board of the globe and how it conveyed that information. In any case, Washington doubts the Chinese version that it was a meteorological measurement balloon, used for scientific purposes, that entered the US by mistake.

In a brief conversation with reporters, President Biden said that he asked the Armed Forces to kill him, and they asked him for time to make sure that the remains did not fall on civilians. “I told them to shoot it down. They told me: Let’s wait for the safest place to do it,” Biden told reporters in Maryland.

A balloon to “watch America”

He Secretary of Defense After an American F22 fighter shot down the balloon with an AIM-9X-type missile, a US American, Lloyd Austin, issued a statement on Saturday to state emphatically that the balloon was being used by the Chinese government “to monitor strategic locations in the continental United States.”

According to that statement, President Joe Biden on Wednesday gave the Pentagon authorization to shoot down the balloon “as soon as the mission could be accomplished without undue risk to American lives under the path of the balloon.” It entered the United States through Idaho, in the northwest, and left on Saturday through the Carolinas, flying over not only population centers, but also military bases, including some with nuclear arsenals.

In a harsh criticism, Secretary Austin launched the accusation of “an unacceptable violation of our sovereignty by the People’s Republic of China.”

The balloon carried a metal load of about 500 kilos and the approximate size of Two buses. She was flying at about 18,000 meters high.

The presence of the balloon over US airspace has exploded relations between China and the US. The US chief diplomat, Anthony Blinkenhas canceled a planned trip to Beijing this Sunday, denouncing a “completely unacceptable” interference by the Chinese communist regime.
