The Vithas Medimar Hospital already has two charging points for electric vehicles installed by Endesa X. The objective is to facilitate the use of non-polluting vehicles for patients and their families who come to the hospital.
The chargers have been installed in the car park of the main building and, through the 22kW semi-fast technology, allow the charging of a vehicle between approximately one hour and an hour and a half (depending on the vehicle’s previous charge percentage and its characteristics) , recharge times according to the needs of the users of a center of these characteristics.
“Vithas Medimar and Vithas Alicante hospitals have been working for years on environmental sustainability measures and systems as a sign of our firm commitment to the environment, therefore, we have wanted to go one step further with the installation of two recharging points in order to favor the use of these vehicles both in our patients and in our professionals ”, explained Dr. Carlos Yago, manager of the Vithas Hospitals in Alicante.
Vithas’s commitment to the environment aims to reduce greenhouse gases and the preferential use of green energy in its network of 19 hospitals and 29 medical centers to also take care of environmental health. As a consequence of this plan, Vithas has already provided 100% renewable electrical energy sources to all its hospitals. Specifically, in 2020, Vithas decreased its global energy consumption for the sixth consecutive year and reduced CO2 emissions by 772.5 tons, equivalent to planting 2,068 trees.
The installation of these energy points in the hospital center responds to Vithas’ commitment to the environment and is part of the agreement reached, at the beginning of 2020, with EndesaX, which contemplates the installation of these “energy islands” in most of the Group’s hospitals.
Chargers available 24 hours
The chargers will be available in the hospital parking lot 24 hours a day and 7 days a week. To be able to recharge, users will have to have the Endesa X application, Juice Pass (available on IOs and Android) to activate the service and start the process. It will not be necessary to register to use the app, since it will also be possible to recharge and pay in a timely manner with a credit card.
Vithas hospitals are safe hospitals
