Seventeen aircraft have joined with the first light of day to fight the fire that affects the Sierra Bermeja area, where conditions “have been more favorable” in recent hours.
The Infoca plan to fight forest fires has indicated that work has been done on the right flank of the fire, “already determining and intervening in various areas of opportunity.” This work is complemented with the incorporation of the first aerial ones.
With the first hours of light they have been incorporated 17 air means and about 300 troops by land to continue working in the fight against fire, which affects some 5,000 hectares according to the latest data. In the same way, they have specified that throughout the morning more means will be incorporated until reaching the 41 aircraft mobilized and the incorporation of new Brica is expected to reinforce the land resources.
Evictions and roadblocks
During the night another forty people have been evicted from a dozen homes in Estepona as a result of the fall of fireworks.
With the last evicted at dawn from Friday to Saturday in the Los Quiñones area, south of the Cuesta de Ronda de Estepona, the number of evacuees amounts to a total of 1,054 people.

In Estepona it has been enabled the Carmen Pavilion to care for the victims and the Red Cross was deployed, which will provide 50 beds, 100 toilet kits and 100 anticovid kits.
A score of evacuees have made use of this facility tonight as some people preferred to return to their first homes, the homes of family and friends or stay in their vehicles in a safe area. In Benahavís the assembly hall of the consistory has been arranged for those who need it.
On the other hand, in relation to the communication channels, they have specified from the Emergency 112 Andalusia system that the MA-8301 and MA-8302 roads are still closed; although the cut-off points have slightly varied. The MA-8302 continues to be interrupted at kilometer 15 and the MA-8301 is cut from kilometer 3.5 to kilometer 32, in both directions.
