The Civil Guard has seized this Monday in Palm Tango luxury yachtowned by Russian billionaire Victor Vekselbergan oligarch claimed by the United States close to the Russian president, Vladimir Putin.
The operation has been carried out jointly with the agencies of United States FBI and Homeland Security Investigations (HSI)has reported the General Directorate of the armed institute.
In addition, the agents have carried out a search inside the boat, 78 meters long and valued at more than 90 million eurosand that it was in the Palma shipyard.
Although Vekselberg is not currently on the list of those sanctioned by the European Union, it is by the United States Department of the Treasury (OFAC).

The seized yacht has a Cook Islands flag and is registered in the name of a company based in the British Virgin Islands, which in turn is managed by companies in Panama, “all this following a complex financial and corporate plot to hide the true real ownership of it”, emphasizes the Civil Guard.
During the registration, various documentation and computer devices have been seized and will be analyzed to, among other things, corroborate the identity of its real owner.
