The city already has everything ready for harbor the celebration of GUITARLAND, the 24º José Tomás Villa de Petrer International Guitar Festival, and receive music lovers, but also all those people who are looking for different plans for summer days in their squares, parks and heritage spaces.

Also, this is a very special edition Since Petrer also shows itself to the world as the European capital of the guitar, in the footsteps of capitals like London or Zagreb, with the final of the European Guitar Festival Collaborative contest, “the Eurovision of guitar festivals”, receiving winning guitarists from the main European competitions, as well as the directors of the festivals that form the world’s first platform for guitar co-financed with the European Union’s Creative Europe program.

An extensive and varied program

In essence, two weeks of music in unique corners with a program of 22 concerts of very varied musical genres such as Classical, Flamenco, Brazilian Music, Ancient Music, Fusion, Fingerstyle and orchestral and chamber formations. Outstanding artists such as Tomatito, David Russell, Yamandu Costa, El Twanguero, Pepe Habichuela, Rafael Riqueni or Margarita Escarpa, among others, will be the protagonists of an exceptional program.

Scheduling concerts are complemented by numerous activities around the guitar. The 20th anniversary of the José Tomás Contest is celebrated, as well as the days in tribute to the Alicante teacher with round table, conferences and recitals during the days 16 and 17, coinciding with the IX FIGP, with more than 12 luthiers coming from different Spanish provinces, and from countries such as France or Italy.

Intensive work has been done in recent months so that the festival can be held with all security measures


More than 60 young people from different parts of Spain or countries such as Slovenia, Italy, Portugal, Mexico or Japan will participate in the Master Class and José Tomás Contest.
