This is the Museum of the Future, and you can already visit it in the present in Dubai

This spectacular museum already exists in Dubai, and you will be amazed by its avant-garde geometry and innovative design.

Dubai is a very special city, one of the places where you will find the most avant-garde and risky architectural bets, and one last building that will leave you speechless it is called the Museum of the Future.

The recently opened Museum of the Future in Dubai is an architecturally innovative work, featuring an overall shape of a large silver eye and sporting an intricate façade covered in Arabic calligraphy.

This museum was created by Killa Design, in collaboration with the engineers Buro Happoldand was commissioned by the Dubai Future Foundation, and in particular this building is located on top of a podium that is conceived as a green hillside counting approximately 100 different local species of trees and plants that are resistant to drought.

This museum is elevated at a height of 77 m and its exterior is made of stainless steel and glass, adorned with inspirational quotes. To create the exterior, they relied on robots to produce more than 1,000 different façade panels.

It subsequently took around 18 months to install the panels into the building’s structural frame. Specifically, it has 1024 separate panelseach placed by robots and also by algorithms.

As they comment, the number of panels has its own meaning since it represents 1 basic unit of the digital information storage system of computers, which is 1 kB, and where each kilobyte is equal to 1024 bytes.

The led lights they also illuminate part of a building to make it spectacular, especially at night. These LEDs are capable of lighting the interior during the day while illuminating the iconic city skyline at night. In total they have been installed 14 km of LED lights that save energy and make efficient use of resources.

It can also be read that “Due to the building’s complex geometry and flowing calligraphy, each separate panel is unique. No two are the same. Each part had to be individually prefabricated and produced, with numerous prototypes designed and manufactured before a winning formula could be achieved.”.

They add that “each panel was produced using automated robotic arms. Each panel is made up of four layers and was created following a complex 16-step process. The precision and focus required to create each panel meant that only several could be produced per day“.

On the other hand, the interior of the museum measures 30,000 m² spread over seven floors without columns. The most spectacular thing is when visitors enter an amazing lobby with a decorative ceiling and a spiral staircase from which they can access several floors of museum services and more.

There is also an area dedicated to children, another that analyzes the technologies of the near future and an inverted digital recreation of the Amazon rainforest. This museum also houses an event space, a wellness area, a gift shop, and a restaurant.
