La preferia starts this Friday with Children’s Day, the opening of stalls and the National Jumping Competition
The San Fernando de Cáceres Fair 2022 will officially open next Tuesday, May 24, with the lighting of the cover and the traditional fireworks display that give way to six days of festivities. But at the fair engines will warm up this weekend with the start of the preference, authorized from Thursday night. On Friday the attractions will open and the first day of the child will be celebrated. Some private booths will also come into operation that will offer musical settings and DJ performances.
In the absence of knowing the programming of the municipal booth and that of the mayor, whose management is in the bidding phase, these are the main activities and events of the eleven days of festivities:
MAY 20
Children’s Day
The attractions will be open from this Friday and will offer discounts for minors on this day. It is one of the two special days (the other is on the 24th) designed for children to enjoy their favorite attractions.
MAY 20, 21 AND 22
National Jumping Competition
What will be the 77th edition of the Cáceres National Jumping Competition, in the two-star category, will take place on the 20th, 21st and 22nd at the Equestrian Enclosure. In the test, which returns with the bets, a hundred horses from various parts of the country and Portugal will compete.

Private booths open
Starting on Friday, some musical and dance booths such as ‘María Bonita’ and ‘Ay mamma mía’ will offer performances and DJ sessions.

World Heritage Swimming Trophy
It will be held at the Ciudad Deportiva on May 21 and 22 from 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.

JUDEX BTT Cycling Closing Championship
The test will take place in the Vía de la Plata park (Montesol circuit) on Sunday, May 22, from 10:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.
FROM MAY 24 TO 29
Day fair in the bars of the city
The day fair in the city’s bars will be held from May 24 to 29, from 1:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Counters and auxiliary bars have been authorized outside but without cañeros, as well as musical background and decoration of the street and the facades. No street will be closed to traffic for safety, although capacity may be limited if there is a crowd, and there will be special surveillance by the Local Police.

lighting and fireworks
The bulbs on the cover of the fair will light up on Tuesday at 11:00 p.m. Fireworks will then be set off and six days of partying and fun will begin until Sunday, May 29.

From Tuesday the 24th to Sunday the 29th, the stalls of the San Fernando agri-food products fair will be open on Paseo de Cánovas.

Peneque the Brave and Gorgorito
Children from Cáceres will once again be able to enjoy the adventures of Penque el Valiente and Gorgorito. The puppet show will be at the Paseo de Cánovas on May 27, 28 and 29 from 12:30 p.m.

Izal concert
The Izal group with its ‘Hogar’ tour will be the musical highlight of the San Fernando Fair 2022. The band will perform at the Recinto Hípico on Saturday, May 28, one of the big days of the fair. The indie pop music band from Madrid will play at 11:00 p.m. The live match coincides with the UEFA Champions League final between Real Madrid and Liverpool in Paris. The doors of the Hípico will open at 8:00 p.m. and attendees will be able to watch the match on the gigantic screens of the concert.

fencing tournament
The XXXVI Cáceres World Heritage Fencing Tournament will be held at the Juan Serrano Macayo Pavilion on May 29 at 9:00 am, organized by the San Jorge Fencing Club.
