Hello! Thank you for starting your day with Winners Club.
Let’s do that football.
Dallas Cowboys (7-4) vs. New Orleans Saints (5-6)
8:20 p.m. ET, FOX / NFL Network
The Cowboys have lost back-to-back games to the Chiefs and Raiders and are slowly losing their grip on the NFC East. Meanwhile, the Saints remain at the center of the NFC playoff picture despite not having won in November. Dallas is a five point favorite at SI Sportsbook on the road at the Superdome.
Best DAL-NO bets: Frankie Taddeo makes a couple of prop bets, as well as a selection from Against the Spread for Thursday night’s game. “If (Alvin) Kamara can’t get into the suit, this could be a good place for the Cowboys,” Taddeo writes.
Player accessories to aim: Jen Piacenti makes her Over / Under selection and shares her favorite Cowboys-Saints prop bets as well as a long shot. “The Saints will put some points on the board against a struggling Dallas defense and (Taysom) Hill will be a factor,” he writes.
Thirteen weeks and 12 regular-season college football games come down to this weekend. As the college football playoff rankings currently stand, No. 1 Georgia would play No. 4 Cincinnati and No. 2 Michigan gets No. 3 Alabama. The top four have to change somehow with the meeting of UGA and ‘Bama in the SEC Championship Game. If Alabama wins, the two teams would likely switch places; if Georgia wins, which team takes Tide’s place?
Composite model championship picks: There are 11 games this weekend, 10 of which are conference championships and only a few that have any bearing on the final ranking of the college football playoffs. Richard Johnson’s model has predictions for every game, including Alabama as a rare underdog.
Conference title game round table: Our writers discuss which championship game they are looking forward to the most and why. Unsurprisingly, there is a lot of intrigue in the battle between Georgia and Alabama for the SEC, although there is also a lot of love for the other conferences.
Latest College Football Playoff Rankings: Catch up on the movement in Tuesday’s latest college football playoff rankings and see the top 25 move into the final week of action before bowl season.
What else are you cooking at SI Fantasy and Betting?
Start ‘Em, Sit’ Em: Michael Fabiano chose a backup running back who has a rare chance to start as his start to the week at the position. See what other players Fabiano recommends you keep in your lineup and who should sit with the regular season drawing to a close.
Week 13 NFL DFS Picks: Shawn Childs is looking for cheap players who can make a difference in their rosters. But you can’t miss out on top-tier talents scoring big numbers either. See who Childs recommends this week.
Fantasy Player Screenings: Childs also projects scores for dozens and dozens of fantasy players in skill positions. There are some new names in the top 12 in the running back this week with position-devastating injuries forcing backups into full-time positions.
Game of the day
Thursday night is tough for DFS. The Cowboys have a good offense against a good Saints defense and Dallas has a defense looking for the ball against a Saints offense struggling to score. Also, the stud runners of both teams are wrecked. Alvin Kamara has missed the last three games and there were reports last week that Ezekiel Elliott’s workload would be reduced. So who are we going here with? I like the receiver of the jeans Lamb CeeDee (FD: $ 13,000 | DK: $ 15,000; prices based on Thursday’s single-game competitions.)
He missed week 12 and has a couple of glitches in his last games, but with Amari Cooper’s status in doubt, Lamb is a good move capable of getting ahead for his team.
