Thursday Night Football DraftKings Picks: NFL DFS Lineup Tips for Week 14 Steelers-Vikings Showdown Tournaments

The Thursday night football game of Week 14 features the Vikings and Steelers. Both teams are trying to keep their slim playoff hopes alive, and Pittsburgh is scoring as many as four points as underdogs on the road, with a total of 45.5. Since both teams have a lot to play for, we should see an entertaining game that equates to fun DFS contests. We’re hitting the hurdles with our “Captain” pick, but we’re also calling in some top-notch studs to round out our DraftKings Showdown lineup.

Remember these important settings for single-game DraftKings contests: Full point PPR, and here they are three-point bonuses for 300 passing yards, 100 rushing yards, and 100 receiving yards. The Captain’s pick costs 1.5 times the player’s original price, but also gets his total points multiplied by 1.5.

DraftKings Showdown Picks: Steelers vs. Vikings

$ 50,000 budget, at least one player from each team is needed.

Captain: (1.5x points, 1.5x salary): WR KJ Osborn, Vikings ($ 8,400)

This is a pure high risk, high reward game. Osborn is not a prototypical candidate to serve as our “Captain”, but we like what we can do with our lineup thanks to his modest salary. Rest assured, there is reason to be optimistic about his outlook as he serves as the Vikings’ second wide receiver after Adam Thielen’s sprained ankle. Osborn finished Sunday with a 4-47-1 line and 14.7 DraftKings points, eclipsing the 20-point barrier earlier this season.

FLEX: WR Justin Jefferson, Vikings ($ 11,000)

Jefferson didn’t need any extra help posting dominant fantasy lines, but he’s ready to absolutely dominate the targets in Thielen’s absence. Jefferson has scored 25.9 DK points, including 40.2 in Week 11, three times in the past four weeks. An equally striking score may be difficult to come by against a tough Steelers defense, but even they will be hard-pressed to hold Jefferson down for too long.

WEEK 14 DFS LINEUPS: DraftKings | FanDuel | Yahoo!

FLEX: WR Diontae Johnson, Steelers ($ 10,200)

Johnson had two touchdown shots Sunday and should have had a third. His 11 goals marked the fourth time in a row and the fifth time in six games that he received double-digit passes on his way. The Vikings have allowed the most points from DraftKings to wide receivers, so all signs point to another busy and productive outing for Johnson.

WEEK 14 STANDARD RANKINGS:
Field marshal | Running backwards | Wide receiver | Tight end | D / ST | Kicker

FLEX: RB Najee Harris, Steelers ($ 10,000)

Harris hasn’t been that dominant in recent weeks, but he’s still getting a ton of volume. He had 26 touches in 26 chances against Baltimore last week and has only been limited to single-digit DK points twice this season. There’s no reason to suspect he won’t see another heavy hitting charge on Thursday, and the Vikings have hardly been a dominant force against hasty attacks.

WEEK 14 PPR RANKINGS:
Field marshal | Running backwards | Wide receiver | Tight end | D / ST | Kicker

FLEX: TE Pat Freiermuth, Steelers ($ 6,600)

Sunday wasn’t Freiermuth’s best performance, and the Vikings have been tight against tight ends most of this year, but we still like his growing role in the Steelers offense. He has scored double-digit DK points in five of his last seven games. If the Steelers find their way to the red zone, Freiermuth will be a prime target and maybe add another solid display to his rookie highlight reel.

FLEX: K Chris Boswell, Steelers ($ 3,800)

We’re stretching ourselves here with Boswell, but we think it can offer enough to serve as a profitable piece of our lineup. He has reached double figures in fantasy scoring in three of his last five contests, and the showdown appears to be well set up for another solid performance. The Steelers have generally been willing to take their three points when the opportunity presented itself (2.1 field goal attempts per game), while the Vikings have consistently forced offenses to settle for three points (2.3 field goal attempts from the opponent per game).
