Gold triathlon for France and USA




Hello world, welcome to our ongoing coverage of these 2020 Paralympic Games. Some athletes are already up and running (and swimming and cycling), with four triathlon races starting early. More about those who are in a tick.

For now, and courtesy of my colleague Martin Belam, here are the other main points of focus on another busy day in Tokyo.

All events are listed here in local Tokyo time. Add one hour for Sydney, subtract eight hours for Sheffield, 13 hours for New York and 16 hours for San Francisco.

  • 9 am-7.36pm Archery – tomorrow there are qualifying rounds throughout the day, but we reached our first medals at 19.16 with the mixed bronze and gold team competitions W1 🥇
  • 9.00 a. M. A 11.18 a. M. and 5:00 p.m. M. At 7:47 p. M. Swimming – There are 14 other finals in the second session, which concludes with the mixed 4x100m freestyle relay final S14 🥇
  • 9 a. M. At 3 p. M. and 4:30 p.m. M. At 9:30 p. M. Table tennis – We got the first medals, with 42 semifinals in the morning session that guarantee a bronze for those who lose. Yes, I said 42. This is not some kind of inside joke from Douglas Adams. The afternoon session has five gold medal finals 🥇
  • 9.30 a.m. M. At 12.50 p. M. and 7:00 p.m. M. At 9:49 p. M. Athletics – There are 16 gold medals available on Saturday in a packed stadium program 🥇
  • From 9.30 to 14.20 and from 16 to 20.50 Boccia – this starts on Saturday with a wide range of individual group matches.
  • 10.00 a. M. At 12.50 p. M. Track cycling – after some qualifying races, today’s medals come in the men’s B 1000m time trial, the B 3000m women’s individual pursuit and the C1-5 750m mixed team sprint 🥇
  • 11 a. M. A 6.30 p. M. Weightlifting – four competitions throughout the day, with the medals in the men -72 kg and -80 kg surpassing and following the women -61 kg and -67 kg 🥇
  • 2.15 pm and 5.30pm Wheelchair Rugby – the mixed competition reaches the semi-finals stage
  • 16: 00-18: 40 Judo – Saturday’s medal fights are at -57 kg and -63 kg for women and -73 kg and -81 kg for men 🥇
  • 5:30 p.m. M. At 8 p. M. Wheelchair fencing – after a day of competition, at 5.30 p.m. M. It is time for the battles for the men’s and women’s individual foil medals in both category A and category B.
  • ?? am – ?? pm Wheelchair tennis – after today’s heat debacle, I really have no idea what time tennis will start or end, and currently on the Paralympic Games schedule there are still some TBDs in the match listings suggesting a start at 11am . Then there will be Some wheelchair tennis in Some point is all I can say with confidence.
