Murders, robberies, arms trafficking and drug trafficking. These are the crimes for which the UK is looking for twelve criminals that it is suspected may be hidden in Spain, most of them on the Costa del Sol. The British authorities together with the Spanish request the collaboration of citizens to stop them as soon as possible.
An aid that guarantees anonymity and does not entail any danger for the complainant, as reiterated this Wednesday by the heads of the Ministry of the Interior, the National Crime Agency of the United Kingdom and the NGO Crimestoppers in the presentation of a new edition of the bell “Most Wanted” (“The most wanted”), continuation of the so-called Capture operations.
In fact, the Secretary of State for Security, Rafael Perez, has underlined the excellent collaboration between the British police and the Spanish security forces that has made it possible to arrest 86 fugitives from British justice since 2006.
Of them, 25 were arrested last year in Spain, revealed the director general of Operations of the National Crime Agency (NCA, for its acronym in English), Steve Rodhouse, who has sent a message: “We appeal to Spanish and British society to call if you know where these fugitives are (…) Any detail can be valuable”.
The released list is made up of twelve men who are suspected of having some link in Spain and there are even clues about some that they may be or have been in specific places such as Marbella or other places in the city. Costa del Sol.
For Rodhouse That this area may be chosen by many British criminals is due, among other reasons, to the concentration of compatriots who reside or spend the summer here, so that the criminal finds himself comfortable and safer mixing with other citizens of his country.
The Most Wanted campaign encourages society –18 million Britons travel to Spain every year– to provide any information related to the whereabouts of any of them to call the NGO CrimeStoppers anonymously and free of charge at 900 926 111.
Clues can also be offered online at the address crimestoppers-uk.org/fugitives, in which the profiles of the fugitives have also been posted.
