Ukraine estimates 300 dead after Russian bombing of Mariupol theater


The shelling of Russian troops in the theater Drama, in the Ukrainian city of Mariupolon March 16 would have settled with about 300 dead. This was stated this Friday by sources from the town hall of the town, citing witnesses.

For her part, the head of the UN Human Rights Monitoring Mission in UkraineMatilda Bogner said her team had been unable to obtain enough information to verify the death toll at the theater. “We have less and less information from there (Mariupol) and in this specific case we are still trying to verify the details,” she added.

130 rescued

Official sources in Ukraine said a few days ago that about 130 people had been rescued of the ruins and that the basement of the building had resisted the attack.

On March 16, the Russian Army bombed the drama theater from Mariupolwhere hundreds of people took refuge of the attacks – a total of 1,300, according to the Ukrainian authorities.
