It is only the second match in the final round of CONCACAF World Cup qualification and the pressure is already on. After Canada and the United States men’s team reached a draw in their opening games on Thursday, they will both seek a win against each other in Nashville, Tennessee, on Sunday night. But there will definitely be more pressure on the USMNT as a home team.
A slow start in qualifying doomed the USMNT in 2018 as it missed the FIFA World Cup, and anything other than a victory on Sunday would be considered the same. The team’s third game won’t be any easier as the Americans travel to face Honduras on Wednesday. Canada will return home to receive El Salvador.

The rivalry between the men’s teams from the United States and Canada is on the rise. Canada has come a long way to be more competitive. The two teams met in the group stage of the CONCACAF Gold Cup in July and the USMNT achieved a 1-0 victory, although Canada deserved better. Teams divided CONCACAF Nations League matches in 2019.
Eight teams are involved in the CONCACAF regional classification. The top three teams from the CONCACAF octagonal will advance to the 2022 FIFA World Cup in Qatar. The fourth-place team will play an intercontinental tiebreaker with a ticket to Qatar up for grabs.
Sporting News will provide live updates and highlights from this first key clash between continental rivals.

Damn, TSN just said Alphonso Davies took on Sergino Dest at BMO in October 2019 and cooked him up
Out of my head, Dest didn’t commit to the US yet, and DeAndre Yedlin played in October.
Dest really did well against Davies in November 2019
