Through 3 Quarters

The point spread is against the Charlotte Hornets, but thus far the points are on their side. Three quarters in and their offense has really been able to impose its will, dominating the Minnesota Timberwolves 88-78 three quarters in.

Charlotte has been relying on power forward Miles Bridges, who has 20 points and five assists in addition to seven boards, and center Mason Plumlee, who has almost dropped a triple-double on 14 rebounds, ten points, and nine dimes. This makes it four consecutive games in which Plumlee has had at least ten rebounds. Plumlee is in foul trouble with four.

Minnesota has been led by center Karl-Anthony Towns, who so far has posted a double-double on 20 points and ten boards.

the Timberwolves have lost 88% of the time when they were down heading into the fourth quarter this season, so this one seems just about wrapped up

What to Know

The Minnesota Timberwolves have been on the wrong side of a one-way rivalry with the Charlotte Hornets and are hoping to record their first win since Oct. 25 of 2019. They will face off against one another at 8 pm ET on Tuesday at Target Center . The Timberwolves are out to keep their six-game home win streak alive.

Minnesota was able to grind out a solid victory over the Indiana Pacers on Sunday, winning 129-120. Minnesota’s small forward Anthony Edwards did his thing and shot 7-for-13 from beyond the arc and finished with 37 points and five rebounds.

Meanwhile, Charlotte came up short against the Memphis Grizzlies this past Saturday, falling 125-118. Charlotte was down 99-75 at the end of the third quarter, which was just too much to recover from. Power forward Miles Bridges had a pretty forgettable game, playing for 30 minutes but putting up just eight points on 2-for-13 shooting.

Minnesota’s victory lifted them to 30-27 while Charlotte’s loss dropped them down to 29-29. We’ll see if Minnesota can repeat their recent success or if the Hornets bounce back and reverse their fortune.
