What channel is 49ers vs. Falcons today? Time, TV schedule for NFL Week 15 game

The Atlanta Falcons will see a familiar face on the opposite side next Sunday, that of former offensive coordinator Kyle Shanahan. Shanahan is 36-41 as the 49ers head coach, but the relevant record, this season’s record, is at 7-6. Even more importantly, that’s good for sixth place in the NFC, giving the 49ers penultimate place in the NFC Playoffs on top of a pile of 6-7 teams vying for entry.

One such team is the Falcons, who have managed to turn their season around after looking like one of the worst teams in football to start the year. They got the job done against the Panthers last week in a 29-21 win. Cordarrelle Patterson remains the most influential player on the Falcons’ offense as they attempt to contain the Saints and outmaneuver the Vikings, Eagles and Washington Football Team.

Atlanta has certainly shown itself to have the necessary temperament as a team. While they are capable of some truly horrendous losses (see: the Patriots on “Thursday Night Football”), they are at their best when they can get an early lead and have teams hold on to get back into games. Matt Ryan still plays somewhat conservative soccer, but ultimately, that has been enough in recent months for Atlanta. He’ll have to stay that way as the Falcons try to make one last push in the postseason in Arthur Smith’s debut season.

For the 49ers, Deebo Samuel should have a full attack count again. That’s great news for Jimmy Garappolo, who lost the star catcher when he lost time this season. Samuel has been the most electric receiver in the NFL when healthy this year, and he could create a lot of trouble for the Falcons secondary in this game. A win would also be huge for the 49ers’ playoff odds as it would keep them above the fray and allow them to continue minding business to get in rather than looking at the scoreboard.

Here’s what you need to know to watch Falcons vs. 49ers this Sunday, including start time, TV channels, and the full NFL Week 15 schedule.
